Rooted in the belief that art and ideas are most powerful when they are free, open, and deeply connected to the world around them, this gallery offers a programme that is as dynamic and alive as the society it reflects. Through a thoughtfully curated calendar of exhibitions, events, activities, and publications, the focus is firmly on the art of today — and on the recent history that has shaped it — always in dialogue with the communities, tensions, and transformations that define our shared human experience. Inclusivity and equity are not just values here; they are the very foundation upon which everything is built.

Between September and April, three major exhibitions or performative events take centre stage, punctuated at times by intimate, one-off events that bring their own singular energy to the space. Each spring, the spotlight turns to the next generation of creators, as the work of Concordia’s graduate visual arts students is celebrated in the much-anticipated Ignition showcase — a moment that never fails to inspire.

Every project is shaped by a distinct and intentional curatorial vision, with public programmes woven naturally into the fabric of each presentation. Collaborators from a wonderfully diverse range of disciplines and fields bring fresh perspectives and rich conversation to every endeavour.

The gallery also proudly houses a growing collection of Canadian and Québécois art — one that is itself periodically brought into critical focus through exhibitions that explore the fascinating questions of collecting, preservation, and interpretation.
